Source of Fruit

Australian Farms

Vitor fruit is grown in Australia's premium fruit growing regions - the Riverland of South Australia, the Sunraysia district on the borders of Victoria and New South Wales and in sub-tropical Queensland. Citrus fruit comes from the Riverland, the Sunraysia and the Burnett and Emerald regions in Queensland. The southern areas have a semi-desert climate, drawing irrigation water from the Murray River and associated irrigation schemes - conditions ideal for the cultivation of citrus fruit.

Avocados and persimmons are grown in these areas under carefully controlled conditions which simulate tropical micro climates but with the benefit of the relatively insect free semi-arid enviroment. Mangoes and some citrus are grown in Queensland where the sub-tropical conditions produce high quality, sought after fruit.

Through the group's ultimate parent, the UK based agribusiness investment company, Linton Park Plc, Vitor also offers fruit from associated farms around the world, with products such as avocados from Kenya, table grapes from South Africa and Chile and Californian citrus. Despite the distances involved, buyers can rely on Vitor's internationally recognised and accepted quality systems
